Transcendence

I looked for you in the meadows,

The meadows that didn’t exist,

The horizon dimly lit,

I sat waiting for reality to hit,

Was it not just yesterday,

That you had been found,

But now you’ve eluded,

Yet become ubiquitous,

And I worship your memories,

Like a devout on his knees,

I look up to the skies,

Chanting your name,

Begging for my prayers to be claimed,

Only to realize,

That no one is listening,

The lone moon is whispering,

Child, you are disappearing,

So, I’ll begin to walk away,

Like an uneducated,

Who doesn’t follow God’s way,

I turn my back to you,

Leave the meadows unseen,

Only to come to terms,

With how lonely I’ve been.
